“JI have not yet seen “torture” on such a scale”, declared Thursday, November 17 Dmytro Loubynets, in charge of the Parliament of Human Rights, on national television, “after having visited all the torture rooms in various regions of Ukraine”. The senior Ukrainian official denounced the “horrible” scale of these acts of torture perpetrated by the Russian army during the occupation of the Ukrainian city of Kherson. The Russian army withdrew Thursday, November 10 from the region, to the relief of the local population.
“Dozens of people” were “electrocuted, beaten with metal pipes. Their bones were broken” and “the Russians filmed all this”, accused Dmytro Loubynets. “I’m sure that in every important locality, we will discover a torture chamber. Because it is a system put in place by Russia. »
Several torture rooms
Ukrainian authorities have announced that they have discovered several torture chambers in areas of the Kherson region recently retaken from the Russians after months of occupation. A resident of Kherson told AFP that he had been detained for weeks in this city during its occupation.
