Adelboden: The slalom live

After Marco Odermatt’s victory in yesterday’s giant slalom, the Swiss want to land on the podium again. Follow the race in the live ticker (from 10.30 a.m.).

(sda) Luca Aerni and Ramon Zenhäusern fight for victory in the World Cup slalom in Adelboden. The Bernese and the Valais are in 3rd and 6th place after the first run.

The decision in the afternoon promises high tension. The first six drivers are within just 16 hundredths of a second – and Aerni and Zen houses in the middle. The reaction of the Swiss drivers to the poor performance in the first two slaloms of the winter was convincing.

Right at the top of the intermediate ranking are the Austrians Fabio Gstrein and Manuel Feller, while the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen, two-time winner of the slalom in Adelboden, and the French Alexis Pinturault lined up between Aerni and Zenhäusern.

Daniel Yule, slalom winner in Adelboden two years ago, lost half a second to Feller, Sandro Simonet and Loïc Meillard take a mortgage of six and eight tenths, respectively, into the second run.

The names of the retired drivers are just as prominent as the time gaps are. The French Clément Noël did not finish, as did world champion Sebastian Foss-Solevaag and the Swede Kristoffer Jakobsen, together with the Norwegian leader in the discipline classification.
