A New York couple has been waiting for weeks to know the sex of their baby. Adele was allowed to announce the good news.

Singer Adele (35) during one of her performances in Las Vegas parents are helped to announce their baby’s gender. The emotional moment moved her to tears herself.

The couple held up a sign

Chris Dare and his wife Shantelle Lord, from New York, caught the singer’s eye in the Coliseum at Caesars Palace by holding a sign that read “Adele, will you tell us our gender?” held up. “Nobody really allowed signs here. I’m just obsessed that you have one,” Adele told the couple, who were brought onto the stage. Both released the scene Instagram and Tiktok.

The mother-to-be told the singer that she was 18 weeks pregnant. Since the twelfth week, she and her husband have been in possession of a sealed envelope that reveals the gender of their baby. However, the couple waited to open it – hoping Adele would do it for them during their concert.

It’ll be a boy

As Adele sat at the edge of the stage, she carefully opened the envelope and then announced to the crowd, “Shantelle and Chris are having a baby boy!” She then hugged the couple and wished them well. “It was amazing,” she said, while breaking down in tears and apologizing to the crowd for sobbing. “I’m so happy for you guys! It’s so emotional, oh my god.” Then she asked the pregnant woman: “If I get pregnant, will you tell me my gender?” Lord nodded enthusiastically. Her husband later posted on Instagram: “Adele, you are amazing and we will remember this night for the rest of our lives!”

Adele wants more children

Adele already has a son, Angelo (10), who comes from the relationship with Simon Konecki (49). The two divorced in 2021 after splitting in 2019. She has been in a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul (41) since 2021 and is planning further offspring. “I definitely want more children,” Adele said in an interview last year “elle”. At first she only has her Las Vegas performances in mind. Her “weekends with Adele” will continue until November.
