Adele reveals in an interview how she overcame her mental health struggles and how bad she really was.

Adele, 33, is currently celebrating the success of her comeback, but nobody suspects the bad times the “Easy On Me” singer went through. In an interview with “Rolling Stone Magazine” Adele speaks about it in detail for the first time.

Adele: “I just wanted to lie in bed and watch ‘Sopranos'”

Her mental health problems began in 2019 during her divorce from Simon Konecki, 47, with whom she shares nine-year-old son Angelo Adkins. Adele says that the separation and subsequent divorce triggered a whole “tsunami of emotions” for her. What followed was a battle with anxiety, followed by depression. The singer reveals that her mental health problems overwhelmed her so much that she didn’t want to leave her bedroom. “I just didn’t want to get up. I just lay in bed and watched the series ‘Sopranos’ all day. I knew that I had to stay busy somehow,” said Adele openly about her worst time so far. “So I started traveling to get myself going again. Jamaica, Greece, to an Arizona desert – I’ve traveled wherever there is supposed to be brilliant energy. I threw myself headlong into it and did anything that could have relieved my anxiety and depression. “

Addicted to fitness

In addition to the pressures of divorce, she found that gluten intolerance also contributed to her depression. To get her depression and indolence under control again, Adele did not touch a drop of alcohol for six months, because drinking had become a bit too much by now. The star has undergone a dramatic body transformation in the past few months and admits in an interview that she has become “addicted to going to the gym”. She explains, “If I can transform my strength and my body in this way, I can certainly do the same with my emotions. That was what drove me. It just coincided with all the emotional events.”
