After a six-year break, Adele is back with a new song and the accompanying video. That’s how emotionally the fans react.

Adele (33) is back – and her fans are freaking out. On the night from Thursday to Friday, the British singer did that Video for their new song “Easy on Me” released. The single is her first musical sign of life in six years and the first harbinger of her fourth album “30”, which is due to be released on November 19, 2021.

Within a few hours, over 18 million people clicked on the video, and over 1.5 million left a Like for the clip (as of 11:30 a.m.).

“Easy on Me”: A typical Adele power ballad

“Easy on Me” is a typical Adele song, piano-heavy and with great emotions. The video, which the Canadian young director Xavier Dolan (32) staged, begins in black and white. Adele leaves an empty house in it and drives away, loose sheets of music blow out of the car. Then she sits in a new place to stay, the picture suddenly becomes colored.

The fans react enthusiastically to the comeback of their heroine. “Beautiful, flawless song. Your vocal range is as breathtaking and powerful as ever,” says the comments, among other things.

The tenor: The new song makes the audience cry – but in a positive, liberating sense. “Adele makes me want to go through a divorce,” summarized a fan on Twitter.

With “Easy on Me” and the album “30”, the British woman is processing her divorce from Simon Konecki, to whom she said yes in 2016. Their son Angelo was born in 2012. The separation followed in 2019, and finally the divorce in March 2021.

On her previous albums, each named after the age the singer was when writing, she was inspired by her personal heartbreak.

Critics celebrate “Easy on Me”

Not only the fans, also the critics celebrate the new song. “A superb return to the old form” is how “Forbes” describes the single. Many voices respond to the emotions that Adele arouses in the listener. “Adele returns and brings the world to tears,” writes Rolling Stone.
