Adnet – Schlotterer opponents are planning a large protest action

It was already announced to the “Krone” newspaper, now it’s fixed: The initiative “Save the Adnet fields” has lodged a complaint with the Ombudsman’s Office and the municipal supervisory authority after its failed citizens’ petition. On Thursday you are invited to a loud protest in front of the municipal office.

It was a serious defeat for the initiative: your application for a referendum on the controversial expansion of the sun protection manufacturer Schlotterer in Adnet failed last week. . The election authority declared all 430 signatures to be invalid. What was the undoing of the Schlotterer opponents of the “Save the Adnetfelder” initiative? This lists a notification that was sent in the mail. Accordingly, people signed who are not EU citizens or who do not live in Adnet at all. Some gave false addresses and incorrect dates of birth. Other signatures did not come from the alleged signer. And: The initiative also submitted lists with pre-printed information. All of this is not permitted according to the Salzburg Municipal Code. It would have taken 299 valid signatures for the citizens’ petition to be successful. The activists are now going on the offensive and have lodged complaints with the Ombudsman’s Office and the municipal supervisory authority. And: On Thursday there will be a meeting of the community representatives. The project is to be further advanced there. The initiative announces a protest action. “Everyone please come to the municipal office from 6 p.m. to demonstrate together on site that we do not agree that our democratic rights are trampled on with black feet,” says a circular. There is also a request to bring rattles, drums and whistles. Local boss Wolfgang Auer (ÖVP) is still behind the expansion plans. Almost five hectares of grassland are to be rededicated for the Schlotterer conversion.
