The Christmas market in Salzburg’s old town and the Hellbrunn Advent Magic brought thousands of visitors to Salzburg in the past few days. And they brought the traffic chaos.
Not only day tourists but also bus groups stormed the city. Car and bus parking spaces in the old town and in Salzburg-Süd were packed, traffic chaos was the order of the day. Bus drivers often didn’t know what to do other than stop wildly. Criticism therefore comes from the Bürgerliste and the KPÖ Plus, who are calling for a functioning park-and-ride system.
