Aegon: capital generation forecast raised for 2023

(CercleFinance.com) – The shares of Dutch insurer Aegon rose sharply early Thursday morning, after the latter revised upwards its forecast for capital generation.

During an activity update, the group indicated that it now anticipated a capital generation of around 1.2 billion euros for 2023, compared to more than a billion previously.

In the third quarter, its operating capital generation increased by 16% to reach 354 million euros.

Managing director Lard Friese explained that the insurer – now headquartered in Bermuda – is benefiting from continued strong commercial momentum in the United States and favorable one-offs.

Aegon – which wants to ensure that its American subsidiary Transamerica reaches its ‘full potential’ – emphasizes that the branch’s strategic assets continued to grow in the third quarter.

Following this encouraging point of activity, the stock gained more than 3% around 10:30 a.m., marking by far the largest increase in the AEX index.
