Pier Vincenzo Piazza, CEO of Aelis Farma, receives the Excellence Award from the European Society for Behavioral Pharmacology (EBPS)
The prize recognizes Pier Vincenzo Piazza’s contribution to the advancement of research in the field of neuroscience
“This award is an honor and a source of pride that recognizes all the work accomplished in basic and translational research that led to the development of the new class of drugs developed by Aelis Farma, CB1-SSi. These were brought to humans thanks to the remarkable work of each member of the Aelis Farma team. I would like to dedicate this award to them, as well as to the members of my former Inserm research group, and to thank them sincerely because it is they who have made this collective success possible. All these years of research and the expertise of our teams mean that today Aelis Farma is one of the most innovative companies in the field of brain diseases and is producing very promising results in the development of two first drug candidates, one aimed at treating cannabis addiction and the other at cognitive deficits related to Down syndrome,” said Pier Vincenzo Piazza.
