“It’s a coincidence for us which crew, with which training, is sent to which mission,” says the volunteer, who can only maintain his authorization as an emergency paramedic – he also has to work as such – in a roundabout way. He is also familiar with the system in Vienna, where emergency paramedics are allowed to carry out treatments and administer medication: “Not everyone is taken to the hospital.”
