After 0: 2 against Austria – LASK coach Dominik Thalhammer fired

Over and over: After the 2-0 draw against Austria Wien, LASK reacted to the current crisis and put coach Dominik Thalhammer on leave on Monday!

Penultimate place in the table, only five goals scored in seven rounds and only three wins from the last 18 league games. The LASK’s unprofessional culminated on Sunday with a 2-0 draw against Austria Wien.

Less than 24 hours later, those responsible reacted and coach Dominik Thalhammer was given leave of absence. Assistant coach Andreas Wieland will take over until winter, so he will be responsible for the team in the first game of the Conference League group stage in Helsinki on Thursday.

“You can’t deny Dominik that he gave everything for LASK and achieved something,” said LASK President Siegmund Gruber. The ex-team boss of the ÖFB women is undisputedly an expert. “But we lack the conviction that under the current pressure – triggered by the recent poor results and performances – he will be able to bring our team back into the form we need to achieve our goals for the season.”
