A 15-year-old came just 200 meters on Thursday evening on an illegal jaunt in neighboring Sonthofen (D). Then the teenager, who also had an 11-year-old in the car, crashed daddy’s car into a parked flatbed truck.
On Thursday evening, a father gave his 15-year-old son the car key to his BMW with the order to get something out of the vehicle. Together with an eleven-year-old friend, the teenager went to the car and they both sat in it. Suddenly the youngster said that he could drive a car and drove off straight away.
After driving 200 meters, however, he crashed into a parked flatbed truck with full force, which was pushed onto two cars parked in front of it by the force of the impact. After the accident, both vehicle occupants ran away. Startled by the bang, a witness was able to observe this. When the alarmed police arrived, the driver who had been involved in the accident was also back. Since he and his passenger were not wearing seat belts, they were injured in the accident and were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Complaints against father and son
The accident resulted in damage of 13,000 euros. The young person now receives reports for driving without a license and for negligent bodily harm. The 39-year-old father is being investigated for authorization to drive without a license, as he should not have given his underage son access to the car key.
