After 26 years of career, Kareem Choudhry leaves Microsoft – Gamosaurus

It seems that Microsoft is not finished with its internal reorganization. Indeed, according to Jez Corden of WindowsCentral, Kareem Choudhry is leaving the company after 26 years of good and loyal service. A departure which would have been signed amicably. But which still joins the long list of names affected by Microsoft’s recent restructuring.

Until now at the head of the internal XEmTech team, Kareem Choudhry worked on possible applications of artificial intelligence in the video game world. One of the current projects involves automating a chatbot to gradually replace customer support for questions frequently asked by players. With Choudhry gone, XEmTech now joins the Xbox hardware team, currently led by Roanne Sonnes.

Another big battle of Kareem Choudhry, backward compatibility. The latter will obviously not be abandoned and will be taken care of by a new team founded by Sarah Bond.

“We have founded a new team dedicated to video game preservation, a subject that is close to the hearts of Xbox and the rest of the industry. We’re building on our great tradition of backwards compatibility, and we will continue to safeguard the incredible catalog of Xbox games for future generations. »

Internal memo from Microsoft

According to WindowsCentral sources, Microsoft should also officially communicate on the subject during the June conferences.
