During 5 years, the 58-year-old former top model lived in isolation before finally telling her story in 2021. Linda Evangelista thus revealed that she underwent CoolSculpting surgery also known as cryolipolysis. This operation consists of freeze fats to destroy them. Unfortunately, the procedure was botched and the model found herself disfigured.
Since then, it has been difficult for Linda Evangelista to face her reflection in the mirror. This Sunday, November 26, the 58-year-old woman spoke in the columns of The Sunday Times. “Oh, I don’t look in the mirror. My son says to me sometimes, ‘You might want to know you have a pimple on your chin.’ And I’m like, ‘What?’ But life is better without mirrors”, she says. Several years after this tragedy, Linda Evangelista confides that the bulges on her body are gradually fading.

To make peace with her image, Linda Evangelista had to call on therapists. The hardest part was no longer being angry with herself for destroying her physical appearance by having this surgery. “I don’t blame myself anymore. I’m not hard on myself anymore. What people think of me still bothers me a little, but it used to bother me a lot. I know now that I didn’t do anything wrong. For a very long time, I thought so.” she explains in her interview.
Linda Evangelista adds: “I’m working hard to let go of the guilt and shame. And I’m not letting it ruin my life. I wouldn’t have stayed locked up if I knew how many people cared.” Especially since last September, the former model revealed that she had had 2 breast cancers in 5 years and therefore underwent a bilateral mastectomy. “I overcame horrible health problems.
