After a missed qualification – “eagle” strength goes astray in cross-country skiing

After finishing 59th in qualifying in Garmisch, the Salzburg Super-Adler didn’t understand the world anymore. On New Year’s Day, he went cross-country skiing to clear his head. An extra unit is planned for Sunday in Seefeld in order to be prepared for Innsbruck again.

World champion Stefan Kraft will complete an extra unit on the hill in Seefeld on Sunday morning to get the ski jumpers going again for the further course of the Four Hills Tournament. The 28-year-old had missed the qualification for the New Year’s competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on New Year’s Eve, and was then at a loss. On New Year’s Day, Kraft had cross-country skiing on the program so that he could clear his head from disappointment. Kraft will return to the tour on Monday in qualifying for the Bergisel jump. After the competition on Tuesday in Innsbruck, the 70th edition of the Nordic ski classic will traditionally be concluded on Epiphany in Bischofshofen on Wednesday and Thursday.
