After a mixed Saints Row, Volition is transferred to Gearbox

Without going into details, Embracer believes that Gearbox is best qualified to help Volition unlock its potential. “Going forward, Volition will transition to be part of Gearbox which has all the tools, including an experienced management team in the US, to create Volition’s future success. This is the first internal group transfer where we transfer a major studio between operational groups, but it won’t necessarily be the last.“, explains the press release. This is the second reinforcement for Gearbox Software which had just adopted Eidos Shanghai earlier this week.

This move comes on the heels of the launch of Saints Row which, despite its long years of development, “did not meet all expectations and was not unanimously accepted by fans“even if the performance of the game economically”was in line with management’s expectations“, explained Embracer during the presentation of its results this morning.

Perhaps more interesting for owners of the game, Volition has just released the update Bright future which fixes over 200 bugs prioritizing stability issues and co-op play. All the details of corrections and improvements are available here and also concern the fights, the vehicles, the open world, the comfort of play, the missions, the interface or the camera.
