His son might have bled to death, says the father of Leart R.* (26) to Blick. “If he had been alone, he would definitely be dead now – because of the great loss of blood.” Now his son is in an artificial coma, and another operation will follow on Monday.
Later on Saturday afternoon, a parking lot dispute broke out in a block of flats in Rapperswil-Jona SG, which ended in a bloody drama within a few moments.
Leart R’s best friend Edon S.** (26) arrived at the scene shortly after the escalation. He saw the police and his friend’s car with lights on. “I thought straight away that something had happened to him. I wrote him a message immediately, unfortunately without a response. »
Subsequent victim did not park properly
Edon S. soon learned from the R. family what had happened. Leart R. arrived on Saturday afternoon with his fiancée and his brother’s girlfriend by car at Kreuzackerstrasse. They wanted to attend Leart R’s father’s birthday party. So he parked the car in his dad’s rental lot. “But unfortunately not quite right,” says Edon S., “that’s why he wanted to correct it.” But it did not get to that.
Suddenly the 50-year-old, who owns the parking lot next to it, was there. Apparently he didn’t want to accept that his car no longer had enough space. When the young man wanted to correct his mistake, he was unable to do so. “The later attacker’s car was in such a way that Leart could no longer move his car,” Edon S. tells Blick. The 50-year-old was so upset that he called the police about the parking problem. By the time they arrived, the situation in the parking lot had escalated.
“The knife attack just happened so ‘fast, fast’!” says Edon S. The 50-year-old stabbed his best friend in the stomach. “The T-shirt was covered in blood.”

Bleeding victim was taken to apartment where birthday was celebrated
The two companions immediately took Leart R. to the home of Leart R’s family, who were already celebrating his father’s birthday. Inside, no one was aware of the argument in the parking lot – everyone was shocked to see Leart R’s T-shirt covered in blood.
R’s father says: «Suddenly my son came into the house with his fiancee and my older son’s girlfriend. He had a wound on his stomach and was bleeding a lot. Luckily I was at home and was able to react immediately.” The father immediately drove his son to a permanent home, where he received first aid. Then Rega flew him to the hospital.
According to the doctors, Leart R.’s condition is now stable, according to the father. Edon S.: «We are all in shock! But we were able to visit Leart in the hospital on Sunday.”
“I would put my hand in the fire for him”
The attacker, who was arrested by the police, has lived for about a year in the same property where the victim’s family has lived for about three decades. The 50-year-old was never noticed, neither positively nor negatively, says Edon S. “They greeted each other briefly. But no one would have thought he was capable of something like that.”
And his best friend is a dear, happy person who “certainly did not take the first step” in this conflict. Edon S. would put his hand in the fire for that. He wishes his best friend: “Stay strong!”
