The year 2023 should show the same face: 308,000 recruitments are expected this year, i.e. exactly the same number as in 2022, according to this same survey, conducted among a representative sample of 8,000 companies representing 1.4 million employees. Gilles Gateau remains cautious: “We still don’t see a slowdown, but these good forecasts can be nuanced: perhaps the companies surveyed today are not anticipating a crisis or a shock that will slow down hiring. And we still come to a plateau. »

This apparent stability also hides a strong disparity between regions and professions. While all sectors benefited from the excellent momentum in 2022, the good forecasts for 2023 are almost exclusively driven by the good health of the sectors to “high added value”, which are very supplier of executives, which are IT activities, engineering-research and development, or consulting. IT executives remain the profiles most sought after by recruiters.

Positive dynamics for young people

Conversely, a decline of 7% is expected in construction (which would bring this sector back below its pre-crisis level) and 9% in trade. Affected by a drop in activity, miscellaneous business services (temporary work, security, cleaning, etc.) or transport-logistics would also be on a downward trend.

The strong geographic presence of services at “high added value” would be illustrated by a disparity in the health of executive employment, also, depending on the region: Ile-de-France (which alone accounts for half of planned recruitments, with 152,520 hires), Auvergne -Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur would be far ahead, while the Hauts-de-France region could record a 6% drop in executive hiring in 2023, due to the decline in the automobile or of agrifood.
