After bomb threat – conspiracy theorist now shows remorse

A Flachgauer (50) will soon have to answer for a qualified threat with explosives in the Salzburg regional court: Out of anger about air traffic and fear of chemtrails, he threatened to use a bomb at the airport.

Elena Haslinger from the public prosecutor’s office confirmed to the “Krone” that a corresponding criminal complaint had been filed with the court. “The accused has already confessed and regrets the whole thing.” On March 19, a Sunday, the 50-year-old called the airport: in the drunken state, the Flachgauer, who believes in a conspiracy theory about “chemtrails”, complained about the heavy air traffic. He threatened by phone with a bomb. That immediately triggered a large-scale operation with explosives detection dogs at the airport. A bomb was not found. This was followed by a house search at the man’s residence. However, the regional court subsequently rejected a detention requested by the prosecution. The 50-year-old was released. A trial date is not known.
