After China and Germany, Tesla is also lowering its prices in France – 04/22/2024 at 10:47

Tesla TSLA.O has lowered its selling prices in France as part of an operation which also concerns the American car manufacturer’s largest markets, such as China and Germany.

The price of the Model 3 first version, in particular, was reduced by 3,000 euros to 39,990 euros, according to data from the group’s website on Monday.

A Tesla representative in France did not immediately respond to requests from Reuters.

In Germany, the price of the Model 3 fell from 42,990 euros to 40,990 euros and in China, the vehicle’s starting price was lowered by 14,000 yuan ($1,930) to 231,900 yuan ($32,000).

These price reductions come as Tesla faces a slowdown in demand and increased competition from Chinese automotive players.

“Tesla’s prices must change frequently in order to adapt production to demand,” the group’s CEO, Elon Musk, said on X on Sunday.

Tesla, which is due to publish its first quarter results on Tuesday, already warned at the start of the month that its global deliveries had declined over the period, a first in four years.

The manufacturer announced last week that it would cut 10% of its global workforce.
