After several days of discussions with the Member States, the Commission adopted on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday a sixth package of sanctions, including an embargo on Russian oil, on which the Union depends for 26%, with differences very significant depending on the country, from 8% for Belgium, to 65% for Hungary and 96% for Slovakia. “This will be a complete ban on imports of all Russian oil, transported by sea or by pipeline, crude and refined (…) in an orderly fashion, in a way that will allow us to put in place other supply routessaid European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
