Israel is currently under massive pressure to allow more aid deliveries to Gaza. Now the government announces that hundreds of trucks are on the road with the corresponding goods.
According to Israel, significantly more aid supplies for the civilian population have arrived in the largely destroyed Gaza Strip in recent days. 468 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were inspected and driven to Gaza, the Israeli Cogat authority responsible for contacts with the Palestinians and humanitarian aid wrote on Platform X. “This is the highest number of trucks carrying aid since the beginning of the war went to the Gaza Strip in one day.”
In the last three days there were more than 1,200 trucks. In addition, more than 300 packages containing numerous meals were dropped over the Gaza Strip on Tuesday. During the night, the trip of 47 trucks with food to the northern Gaza Strip was coordinated.

Criticism from Baerbock
On Tuesday, Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock called on the Israeli government to quickly implement the announcement to open the port of Ashdod, next to the Erez border crossing, for aid transports in order to supply the civilian population in the north of the Gaza Strip. The announcement has not yet been implemented.
Since Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel’s border areas on October 7th, which left more than 1,200 dead and kidnapped hostages to the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military says it has been taking action against the Palestinian organization’s military targets. Israel has come under strong international criticism because of the high number of victims, including among the Palestinian civilian population, and the insufficient supply of food. Aid organizations warn that the situation is catastrophic, especially in the north of the sealed-off coastal area.
