After Double Trap, Harlan Coben is unfaithful to Netflix and announces a project with Prime Video!

Harlan Coben and the screenwriter of Double Piège are collaborating again on a new project! This thriller will be produced for the Prime Video platform.

There’s no stopping Harlan Coben. The American author is currently working on a new project, for Prime Video this time, while its latest series Double Trap continues to be a hit on Netflix. It is also the screenwriter of the latter, Danny Brocklehurst, who will write with him.

Coben’s codes

Entitled Lazarus, this mini-series is not adapted from one of his novels but was completely imagined by Coben and Brocklehurst. It will tell the story of a man returning to his hometown after his father’s suicide. He then begins to have strange experiences and will find himself involved in a murder case, linked to the disappearance of his father and the assassination of his sister, 25 years ago.

This thriller takes up the codes of Harlan Coben, with mystery, a hero who seeks answers in his past, and a breathtaking investigation. The casting of Lazarus is already known: Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & The Six) will play the main role, that of Laz, a forensic psychologist who left home to escape the pain (linked to the death of his sister?).

Bill Nighy will portray his deceased father. He is presented as a doctor appreciated by everyone. It is also “charming, funny and charismatic as his son”. Actress Alexandra Roach (Killing Eve) will play Jenna Lazarus. This is Laz’s second sister.

A big blow for Prime Video

Prime Video renews its confidence in Harlan Coben, despite the failure of their last collaboration. The two parties had worked this summer on Uncovered, the series centered on Mickey Bolitar. It was not renewed for a season 2, following disappointing audiences.

But Lazarus could be a game changer for the streaming platform. Coben returns to what he does best – the straight-up thriller – and announces from the start that this is a mini-series. The storytelling should be effective enough to make people want to come back week after week to watch the episodes.
