After Elvis and before Dune 2, here is Austin Butler in Spielberg’s new war series

Apple gives a preview of its next drama series led by Austin Butler and produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

After Elvis and before Dune: Part Two, you will be able to find Austin Butler in a new project. Apple TV+ has indeed published the first photos from Masters of the Air, its next series produced by the Brothers in Arms team: Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.

Masters of the Air is a tribute to the brave men of the 8th Air Force who, through their courage and brotherhood, helped defeat Nazi Germany during World War II“, said Gary Goetzman (via ComingSoon). “Tom and Steven always wanted to cinematically visualize what our author Don Miller called, this ‘singular event in the history of war’. We’re thrilled that Apple TV+ has given us the opportunity to combine the efforts of so many talented people, on screen and behind the camera, to tell this important story.

Based on the 2007 book by Donald L. Miller, Masters of the Air is set during World War II and depicts the heroic actions of the men of the United States Air Force’s 100th Bombardment Group, airmen who risked their lives while forming a brotherhood forged by courage, loss and triumph.

Austin Butler here plays Major Gale Cleven alongside Barry Keoghan (The Batman) as Lieutenant Curtis Biddick and Callum Turner as Major John Egan. The cast also includes Anthony Boyle (Major Harry Crosby), Nate Mann (Major Robert Rosenthal), and Raff Law (Sgt. Ken Lemmons).

Masters of the Air is expected to unveil its first two episodes on the streaming platform on Friday January 26, 2024, followed by a new episode every Friday until the following March 15.
