Cinema viewers won’t have to wait long for the next collaboration between Emma Stone and Giorgos Lanthimos after “Poor Things”.
At the 96th Academy Awards, the surreal drama “Poor Things” by Greek filmmaker Giorgos Lanthimos (50) just won an impressive four Academy Awards. Among other things, Lanthimos muse Emma Stone (35) received the coveted award for “Best Leading Actress”. It is now clear when the next collaboration between the two creatives will appear in US cinemas: “Kinds of Kindness” is scheduled to be released on June 21st of this year. according to Variety.
Not a long wait for the next Lanthimos Stone film
“Poor Things” celebrated its acclaimed world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September last year. The drama, in which Emma Stone’s character Bella Baxter is given the brain of her own unborn child, was awarded a total of four trophies at the Oscars on March 10th, including Stone’s Award for “Best Costume Design” and “Best Make-up”. up”.
In Lanthimos’ follow-up work “Kinds of Kindness”, the newly crowned Oscar winner Stone takes on the leading role. Nothing is currently known about the plot. Filming for “Kinds of Kindness” was completed in New Orleans at the end of 2022. The new film marks Stone and Lanthimos’ fourth collaboration to date, following the Oscar-winning “The Favourite”, “Poor Things” and the short film “Bleat”. A German cinema release date for “Kinds of Kindness” has not yet been set.
