There is disbelief after the serious motorcycle accident that occurred on Friday evening in southern Burgenland. A 21-year-old man was killed. The public’s sympathy is great.
The 21-year-old man is believed to have collided with a tractor near the outdoor swimming pool in Großpetersdorf (Oberwart district). The exact circumstances of the accident are still being investigated by the police. Although helpers were quickly on site and the emergency helicopter was called immediately, any help came too late for the young man. Since then there has been great sadness, not only among his relatives. Numerous candles were placed at the scene of the accident. People always come there and stop there for a moment – from friends to former school colleagues. Nobody can understand the misfortune that took a young person’s life so suddenly. The 21-year-old was also active as a footballer for SC Schachendorf. The club colleagues are still shocked. Next to the candles at the scene of the accident is his football uniform as a reminder of games we played together.
