The annual Super Bowl sporting event is always an opportunity to discover the first images of the cinema releases that will punctuate the year. Nope, Jordan Peele’s third film, kicks off the festivities. The trailer, unveiled on February 13, promises an even crazier and more mysterious story than its first two successes, get-out and Us.

Accustomed to working in the greatest of secrets, Jordan Peele had revealed a few details by unveiling, during the summer of 2021, the first poster. This showed a small isolated town threatened by a terrible cloud. From then on, theories began to flourish on the Web and some of them seem to be confirmed after this trailer.

In a spirit similar to The Twilight Zone – an iconic series relaunched by the director in 2019 – the images depict what appears to be an alien invasion. After get-outDaniel Kaluuya teams up again with the filmmaker in the shoes of a horse trainer.

At his side, the actor is surrounded by Keke Palmer, who appeared in Queens with Jennifer Lopez, Steven Yeun, independent film revelation minari and Barbie Ferreira, one of the heroines of the series Euphoria.

With Boop, Jordan Peele continues to take on increasingly ambitious films. His first two feature films, Get Out and Us, grossed over $255 million each worldwide. As a reminder, the director became, in 2018, the first black man to receive the Oscar for best original screenplay for get-out.

Boopin theaters August 3, 2022.
