After involvement in massacre: Israel sets up force to wipe out Hamas terror unit

After involvement in massacre
Israel forms force to wipe out Hamas terror unit

The Hamas assault unit Nukhba murdered hundreds of civilians in the massacre on October 7th. A new Israeli secret service force is now tasked with stopping the terrorists and eliminating all members.

According to media reports, the Israeli domestic secret service Shin Bet is forming a new special unit to track down and kill the Hamas fighters who led the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7th. Accordingly, the name of the special force is NILI, an acronym for the Hebrew saying “Netzach Israel lo Ieshaker” (German: “He who is the glory of Israel does not lie”). The same name was given to a Jewish underground organization that supported the British in the fight against the Ottoman Empire during the First World War.

As the newspaper “Jerusalem Post” reports, the Hamas command unit Nuchba (German: Elite) is in NILI’s crosshairs. Nukhba terrorists spearheaded the October 7 Hamas massacre. According to the paper, NILI operates independently of other Israeli special forces that focus on killing high-level terrorists. According to the Arutz Sheva news portal, the Israeli special unit already has names and photos of the terrorists involved.

The Israel Defense Forces announced the deaths of a Nukhba battalion commander and company commander last weekend. Both are said to have played key roles in the massacre. On Wednesday, Israel reported the elimination of more than ten Nukhba terrorists through air strikes in the Gaza Strip. According to Israeli sources, a Nukhba member was also killed on Saturday.

The Nukhba special unit is subordinate to Hamas’ Quassam Brigades. The force was formed around 2010 and is trained for amphibious operations. More than 1,400 people were murdered in the October 7 bloodbath in Israel, most of them civilians.
