Sonos has just revealed its latest entry-level soundbar, the Sonos Ray, but seems to have yet another new product in the pipeline.
A perfect little subwoofer to support the latest Sonos Ray
This is the US site The Verge which tells us today that the manufacturer is preparing a new subwoofer which would be called the Sonos Sub Mini, after some first leaks that appeared in the brand’s mobile application. This device would also internally code name S37, while the Sonos Ray was known as S36.
This more compact model would differ from the Sonos Sub by a cylindrical format, where the previous model adopted a rectangular shape. The American media has also obtained enough information to offer a 3D rendering of the device.
In the center, there will be a pill-shaped cutout. In addition, the Sub Mini’s technical data sheet should be quite similar to that of its big brother, but obviously with a lower power.
A launch that should take place before September 2022
The Sonos Sub Mini seems to be designed to pair with the Sonos Ray. Fans of the brand may have been disappointed not to see this model unveiled at the same time as the soundbar, but Sonos seems to want to take all its time to refine its product.
This small subwoofer should also be usable with the Sonos Beam and Sonos Arc models, for all users who did not wish to invest the 849 euros requested for the Sonos Sub. The soundbars will automatically recognize the accessory and let it manage the low frequencies for a more massive sound reproduction when watching their content.
We do not yet know the final price or the release date of this Sonos Sub Mini, but according to the CEO of the manufacturer, who explained earlier in the year that the product launches would all take place during the year current tax, the subwoofer should arrive in stores before September 2022 at the latest.
