The “Friends” stars are planning a Matthew Perry tribute at the Emmys. Fans can expect an emotional moment full of personal memories.
After the completely unexpected death of Matthew Perry (1969-2023), the remaining “Friends” stars are apparently planning a reunion in honor of their deceased colleague. As the British “Daily Mail” reports, Jennifer Aniston (54), Courteney Cox (59), Lisa Kudrow (60), Matt LeBlanc (56) and David Schimmer (57) are said to be currently “in early discussions” about this. According to the report, a reunion is being considered at the upcoming Emmy Awards in January.
There they want to share “personal memories” of Perry with the fans and give him the honor that he “rightly deserves”. A source told the paper that the five “Friends” main actors who are still alive definitely want to pay tribute publicly. It’s just not yet clear when this will happen. When it comes to Perry’s death, there are still a lot of emotions running high among Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc and Schwimmer. It is a “delicate situation” for everyone, reports the insider.

However, it seems possible that the five cult actors will appear on stage together at the Emmy Awards to talk about Perry and tell the world what unique moments they were able to experience together. They also want to tell about the man Perry was in real life.
The 75th Emmys will take place on January 15, 2024 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Perry himself was nominated for an Emmy Award a total of five times, including for “Best Actor in a Comedy Series” for his role as Chandler Bing in the cult series “Friends”.
Matthew Perry died in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. The exact background is still unclear; a toxicological examination should shed light on his death. Perry was heavily addicted to alcohol and medication for many years. He often spoke openly about his addiction problems. Ultimately, however, he was considered abstinent.
