The hunt for account sharing on streaming services continues in 2024. It is now the turn of Disney+ to get started in the coming months.
Netflix hurt major streaming consumers last year by implementing a policy intended to put an end to account sharing, in order to attract new customers. The very public operation obviously aroused the interest of a certain number of competitors of the American giant, including Disney+, which had announced that it would take similar steps. And we just got details on what was going to happen soon.

Operations begin in June
Officially, Disney+ has banned account sharing on its services since January 25 for new users, and since March 14 for those who were already registered. But after the formal announcement of this prohibition, it is time for the platform to move on to sanctions.
And according to an interview which has just been given by his boss Bob Iger to the American media CNBC, the first attacks will begin to fall at least next June. People suspected of account sharing will see a message appear on their screen asking them to subscribe to their own subscription.
Repression will start with a few countries
It will also be possible for those who already have a subscription to pay extra in order to be able to share their Disney+ subscription with other people outside their household. For the moment, no details have been provided on the price of this supplement.
Please note that the operations which will begin in June will only concern “ only a few countries in a few markets » in the words of Bob Iger. The general deployment of these provisions will only take place at the start of the school year, next September. Subscribers to the service in France have now been notified!
