It’s official ! Discord voice chat is coming to Xbox consoles (Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One), to the delight of gamers. A new addition available for now that has some Xbox Insiders but will be available to all players in the coming weeks. The machine is working !
Discord is coming to Xbox
While it was already available on PlayStation, Xbox’s longtime competitor, Discord is now available on Microsoft consoles. Very good news for all players, who will now be able to exchange much more freely with their friends, but also make group calls in a flash!
Players can now see directly from their console who is present in the group of friends and who is talking. They can also adjust the volume and switch from Discord chat to Xbox voice chat.
A welcome addition that will facilitate virtual life as well as communication for players, tired until then of having to alternate between Discord chats on PC and Xbox chat on console. Now the two are one!
How to link Discord to your Xbox?
It’s quite simple, you have to go to the Guide by pressing the Xbox button on your controller, then go to the section Groups and chat then click on Try Discord voice chat on Xbox.
You will then be able to scan a QR code which will launch the Discord and Xbox apps to log in and link your accounts on both apps. If you have already linked your Discord account to your Xbox, it will be necessary to link them again in order to start from scratch.
Once your Discord account is linked to your Xbox, you will be able to take advantage of all the usual features of the application and thus join your friends. On the Discord mobile app, you will see a new option Join on Xbox.
You will need the Xbox app to transfer voice chat from your Discord account to your Xbox. If the app is installed, it will launch automatically to allow you to connect Discord voice chat to your Xbox console.
