Set up to support graphics cards
AMD, the Fidelity FX Super Resolution begins to take from developers.
Shortly after the release of the GeForce RTX 2000, NVIDIA implemented the Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). The technique aims to render the image in games in a lower definition and rely on artificial intelligence to magnify it optimally.
Not a real competitor to DLSS
In its first version, DLSS was hardly convincing, but with the release of v2, NVIDIA interested more and more developers thanks to the quality of its sound. upscaling and low impact on machine performance, allowing more graphic detail to be added.
AMD couldn’t go ostrich for too long, and last July it introduced the Fidelity FX Super Revolution (FSR) which also aims to render a scene in a lower definition than the one really wanted. However, this is not a question of artificial intelligence.
The promoter of Radeons favored more traditional algorithms to “artificially” increase the definition of the image. AMD emphasizes, however, that its algorithms are among the most efficient and that they are supplemented by sharpness filters, which are also very efficient.
Soon more than 70 compatible games
Without being at the level of quality of DLSS, FSR quickly gained popularity with studios and, within six months, it is already involved with 47 games. AMD cites titles like Anno 1800, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Deathloop
, F1 2021
, Far cry 6
, Godfall
, Horizon zero dawn
, Resident Evil Village
Where Warhammer Vermintide.

Through a publication on his official blog, the American also points out that 24 other games are planned very soon, including God of war
, Hitman iii
, No Man’s Sky, The Elder Scrolls Online, Warface or X4: Foundations.
Finally, AMD insists on the performance that can be expected with FSR support. Graphics in support, on a selection of games, the firm evokes the performance boost with the FSR in quality mode and the boost, more importantly, when we favor the performance mode: there, in 4K, it is a question from 1.3x to 2.7x the performance without FSR.
