Next Dolphins quarterback staggers across the field

A much-discussed injury to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has the NFL tightening the rules. Staggering players are therefore no longer allowed to return to the field. Bitter: The new rules take effect for the first time with the Miami Dolphins, who are now losing their second quarterback after Tagovailoa.
The Miami Dolphins have to replace the next quarterback immediately after the tightening of the “concussion protocol” in the NFL football league. After Tua Tagovailoa’s much-discussed injury, his representative Teddy Bridgewater was hit by the loss on Sunday at the New York Jets (17:40). This makes him the first NFL player to be taken out of the game as a precaution under the tightened rules. Bridgewater was hit hard early in the game and visibly staggered afterwards.
Bridgewater is showing no symptoms of concussion, said Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, who called the new rule “a good thing”. Before Bridgewater can play again, he must go through protocol, which includes evaluation by an independent neurologist. With rookie playmaker Skylar Thompson, the Dolphins lost quite clearly.
The league and players’ union only agreed on the tightening of the rules on Saturday: If a player has problems with balance, coordination or speaking during a game, he is not allowed to return to the field. The trigger was, of all things, the injury to Dolphins quarterback Tagovailoa. In the game against the Buffalo Bills, he was visibly battered after a hard hit and stumbled, but continued to play. He also ran up in the following game against the Cincinnati Bengals, then fell on the back of his head and suffered a concussion.
Meanwhile, Super Bowl winners the Los Angeles Rams are still out of season, the 10-22 loss to the Dallas Cowboys was their third loss in five games. The only undefeated team is still the Philadelphia Eagles, who ran 20-17 against the Arizona Cardinals. It was a heavy defeat for the Detroit Lions and Amon-Ra St. Brown at 0:29 with the New England Patriots. His brother Equanimeous St. Brown also lost with the Chicago Bears at the Minnesota Vikings with 22:29.
