After the acquisition of Lyxor, Amundi aims for 50% growth in its passive management by 2025

Asset manager Amundi, which has become the European leader in passive management thanks to the completion of the Lyxor buyout on December 31, is targeting 50% growth in this area by 2025, he announced on Tuesday.

With the acquisition of Lyxor la Socit Gnrale for 825million euros, Amundi has become the leading European provider of ETFs, funds that replicate a given index, such as the CAC 40, he said in a press release. .

Overall, the platform manages 282 billion euros, an amount that Amundi would like to increase by 50% by 2025 by capitalizing on the strong demand for passive management products observed in recent years.

Amundi relies on online trading platforms to continue attracting individuals to this type of investment. The asset manager hopes that the trend will continue on the ESG allocation (investment in companies respecting certain economic, social and governance standards) facilitated by ETFs in the eyes of institutional investors.

In addition, the manager with 1.811 billion euros in assets under management at September 30 will also create a new strategic range, Amundi Alternatives, for alternative investments.

These investments are mainly in hedge funds, non-speculative investment funds, at Amundi Alernatives. They are said to be alternative to stocks and bonds.
