Barely his film offered in theaters, the director of The Batman
Matt Reeves, confirms information about the spin-off series that will see the light of day.

Update of 03/10:

It is now also official on the side of HBO Max: Colin Farrell’s Penguin will benefit from its own series. The actor will also be in the executive production, like the director of The BatmanMatt Reeves, Dylan Clark and Lauren LeFranc.

The prequel series centered on the GCPD, it seems to have been abandoned or rather replaced by a show focusing on Arkham Asylum. It only remains for HBO Max to formalize it as well.

At least two series derived from The Batman on the way

At the microphone of Toronto Sun
director Matt Reeves spoke yesterday about the launch of The Batman At the movie theater. But it was also quickly question of the continuation. Beyond a hypothetical second feature film obviously already in discussions with Warner Bros., the man has confirmed the solid rumors that wanted not one, but two spin-off series to see the light of day on HBO Max. He also briefly mentioned what they should return to.

The first will focus on the character of the Penguin, normally on a period taking place before the events of the film. Embodied by Colin Farrell under kilos of makeup, the character of Oswald Cobblepot should enjoy a story worthy of scarface on his rise to power.

The second, where it was so far mentioned the possibility of being interested in the police officers of the GCPD and the very beginning of the career of Batman in Gotham, should be interested in the famous asylum of Arkham. It remains to be seen if this second idea will replace the first, will come in addition or if there is in fact question of a third series.

The Batman review: if Matt Reeves does not reinvent the wheel, he sublimates it like never before

On paper, the film The Batman by Matt Reeves takes certain risks: detached from the DCEU, carried by Robert Pattinson, oriented investigation and lasting almost 3 hours… The project, probably motivated by the success of the atypical Joker, has something question, and despite everything, we can only salute Warner Bros for having supported it. It remains to be seen if the result lives up to expectations…
