after the chaotic launch, the struggling studio

After an extremely complicated gestation and beginning, the Halo Infinite studio will undergo enormous changes with the departure of a prominent member of the franchise.

Time for renewal for 343 Industries and Halo Infinite? Microsoft announces a big restoration to ensure the future of the game.

An iconic member of Halo Infinite leaves the team

Bonnie Ross, major face of Xbox and thinking head of the Halo franchise, said goodbye to Microsoft after more than 27 years alongside the Redmond firm. Bonnie Ross is indeed not a beginner since it is also she who founded 343 Industries, and will have been at the origin of the successes … but also of the flop of Halo Infinite.

In her press release, Bonnie Ross explains her resignation due to a “family medical problem”.

While I had hoped to stick with Halo until the winter update, I inform you that I will leave 343 Industries and take care of a family medical problem. I’m incredibly proud of the work everyone at 343 Industries has done with Halo Infinite, the Master Chief Collection, the Halo TV series, and so much more. It has been an honor to serve alongside the team for the past 15 years and to be part of a universe that I love.

Thank you to everyone in the Halo community for all their support. The future of Halo looks bright. I can’t wait for you to experience what we’re working on – and cheer with you, as, at the Halo World Championship in October.

To ensure that this future is really promising, the organization chart of the studio is shaken up. Pierre Hintze, production manager, takes the helm of 343 Industries. Bryan Koski becomes general manager of the license, and Elizabeth Van Wyck, responsible for business and operations.

An episode far from over

These changes also come in to provide the momentum Halo Infinite needs to get going again. But also to carry out his plans for a game as a service. And it won’t be a bad thing!

A week ago, the title dropped a long-awaited mode, then pushed back Season 3, online co-op, and The Forge again. With the tracking holes, this episode lost a huge amount of players on Steam. It is therefore essential for developers to slow down the phenomenon and recover the world by delivering content.
