After the distribution of this photo which moves the whole country, this nurse becomes a symbol

While the virus is not tiring, hospitals are always packed, and healthcare workers cannot see the end of it. In Italy, a nurse has become a symbol of gentleness for playing with a seven-month-old baby with Covid-19. A very beautiful photo.

It is an image filled with gentleness and empathy that has toured the Italian media in recent days. We see a nurse named Katia Sandroni, in a white jumpsuit, playing quietly with a seven-month-old baby on an IV and suffering from Covid-19. Taken at the beginning of March in the wing dedicated to the virus of the Salesi children’s hospital in Ancona, the photo has gone viral on social networks.

In the middle of the medical equipment, a nice moment of sharing and tenderness.

Matteo’s story

The baby, named Matteo, found himself in hospital on his own after being admitted to the emergency room with a stomach ache. Taken by his mother, both had to undergo a PCR or antigen test when they arrived in the emergency room. The results are in: Matteo and his mother are positive for the virus. It turns out that in fact the infant’s abdominal pain was linked to complications from the coronavirus, according to La Stampa. The little guy must therefore be operated on urgently. But health situation requires, the mother can not stay with him. She is therefore sent home in quarantine, and Matteo finds himself all alone.

The caregivers having surprised the mischievous moment shared by Katia Sandroni and the child, they decided to take a picture and send it to the boy’s mother to reassure her. Successful bet ! The mother is reassured, and the cliché moves all of Italy. While the nurse would have preferred to remain anonymous, the Corriere Della Sera found her again, and she became a symbol of gentleness in her country.

A very humble nurse

Katia Sandroni assures that she is no more heroic than her colleagues, who sometimes do 24-hour guards at the Covid-19 service. She does not want us to forget the other health workers, who toil every day and fight for the lives of others. “Of course it is me that we see in the photo, but it could have been any of my colleagues. It turns out that the little one didn’t want to sleep, he wanted to play, so I tried to amuse him”, The 42-year-old woman told Corriere Della Sera.

Indeed, as underlined France TV Info, it has been months since we applaud caregivers. However, their workload has not decreased, as has their hours. Many thanks to them.
