After The Fall is available since the beginning of December 2021, and although it has certain undeniable qualities with its universe, its successful atmosphere and its frenetic action, however, it suffers from a lack of content. A certain repetitiveness, only mitigated by the different difficulty modes offered or the customization of weapons, therefore ends up settling over the missions (you can find our test here as well as the comparison of the versions Quest 2 and pc VR).
Also, we were looking forward to seeing additional content appear in order to continue to entertain us over time. Two months later, so the studio Vertigo Games announcement the next season titled front runner, being part of the Launch Editionwhich will bring a mode Horde (arriving mid-February), new mapsnew enemies and new weapons.
Let’s start with the cards, which are four in number, and will enrich the existing ones:
- Hollywood Boulevard will make us walk the frozen streets of Hollywood, and more particularly the Walk Of Fame in all the existing difficulty modes.
- The Stockpile PvP Arena will feature fast-paced 4v4 Team Deathmatch or free-for-all battles with rewards for the best players in each match.
- The next Horde mode will take place on two maps called Junction and Highway. Up to four Harvest Runners will have to fight for survival in confined areas with multiple corridors, but beware, as Snowbreeds will come from all sides (remember to look up). Although this mode does not have an ending, which is only limited by our own death, the studio announces that new variations will be coming. And unlike the PvP arenas, here it will be possible to bring your own personalized weapons beforehand.
A new enemy, called Skimmer will also join our harvesting missionsbut unlike Snowbreeds traditional, it will be necessary here to hunt him down and arrange his portrait to obtain a particularly abundant harvest. Something to vary the gameplay reversing the role of hunter and prey. But will the benefit be worth the risk?
Finally, two new weapons will appear to always make more holes in our adversaries or relieve them of certain members. Thus Vertigo Games announcement a new revolver sized to “hit very hard”, but having as its counterpart a magazine with limited ammunition (it appears to be a six-round magazine). Another special weapon still kept secret for the moment will be announced in the coming weeks.
