Madonna caused a stir with her changed appearance at this year’s Grammys. Now the singer counters humorously.
Pop star Madonna (64) caused a stir at this year’s Grammys. The reason was the changed appearance of the singer. With a very smooth face and plump lips, the 64-year-old showed up at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Malicious comments followed online, with many speculating whether the singer quickly paid a visit to the cosmetic surgeon. After all the criticism, Madonna now humorously countered on Twitter.
“swelling gone down”
“Look how cute I am now that the swelling from the surgery has gone down lol” wrote the singer with a laughing smiley face to a photo of yourself. She is seen wearing ripped jeans and a black jacket, as well as a baseball cap that says “spiritually hungry.” She braided her long, orange hair into several pigtails. She looks at the camera with her arms crossed.
Just a few days after the award ceremony, Madonna defended herself against the hate comments online. “Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech, which was to appreciate Sam and Kim’s fearlessness, a lot of people have chosen to just talk about the close-ups of me,” she wrote on an Instagram video with shots of the evening. The German singer Kim Petras (30) was the first trans person to receive the music prize together with Sam Smith (30).
The long lens of the press photographer would distort every face, explained the “Queen of Pop”. She was once again caught in the gaze of age discrimination and misogyny. And spoke of a world “that refuses to celebrate women over 45 and feels the need to punish them if they continue to be strong-willed, hard-working and adventurous”.
