Did you beat a little over the austerity in culinary terms over the holidays? You can use these foods to make up for the gluttony!

Most people eat a little too much salt, sugar and alcohol over the holidays. Do you feel addressed? Then we have the right food to balance the feast of the last few days.

Too much salt over the holidays?

In this country, too much salt is basically not only eaten over the holidays, but actually throughout the year. On average, people in Germany get 9.5 grams of salt per day, which increases the risk of high blood pressure and strokes. Did you eat too much salt? Then, in the coming days, rely on foods that contain a lot of water, such as Cucumber, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, lamb's lettuce, zucchini, cauliflower, spinach, watermelon and eggplant. And always drink water too!

Sugar Overload?

There is hardly a time in the year when we consume as much sugar as during Advent. This not only harms your figure and teeth, but also your health. It's good that you can now do something good for your body to balance out the chocolate overload. You should grab these foods now: water with ginger, lemon or mint, vegetables and fruits. However, pay attention to the fructose content of the respective fruits!

Looked too deep into the glass?

There's nothing wrong with an after-work beer every now and then – but it probably didn't always stay that way over Christmas and New Year's Eve. Anyone who has looked too deeply into the glass should now rely on alkaline foods that counteract acidification of the body. Avocados, berries, figs, oranges, artichokes, carrots, beetroot, and Swiss chard are just a few sample foods. For all those who want to thoroughly cleanse their organism, an alkaline fasting cure is recommended.
