Miles Teller, who played Rooster Bradshaw in Top Gun Maverick, will star in the Doctor Strange director’s new feature film. The film will be produced by Tom Cruise.
After having piloted together in Top Gun Maverick, Miles Teller and Tom Cruise will find themselves on a new project directed by Scott Derrickson (Black Phone, Doctor Strange).
According Deadline, the 35-year-old comedian will be the hero of The Gorge, which will be produced by the Skydance studio. Tom Cruise will not play in it but will be one of the producers via this company which finances all his films, in particular Mission Impossible. After 1.4 billion greenbacks collected for Maverick, nothing can stop him!
The story is not yet disclosed but Deadline evokes a story that will mix love story and unbridled action.
Scott Derrickson will thus explore a new genre after the horror-horror (Sinister), the superheroes (Doctor Strange) and the fantastic thriller (Black Phone).
This film, released last June, was a great success, bringing in 155 million dollars worldwide for a budget of 18 million. As for Tom Cruise, we will find him on July 12, 2023 for Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning.
Note that Miles Teller will soon be appearing in the series The Offer, which retraces the obstacle course of Francis Ford Coppola and his team to produce The Godfather. The actor will play producer Al Ruddy, who fought tirelessly to bring Mario Puzo’s novel to film.
