A leak informed us a few days ago about the future high-end headphones WH-1000XM5 from Sony. Today information and visuals are emerging about new LinkBuds from the Japanese manufacturer.
Just a few months after the introduction of its first LinkBuds, Sony is obviously preparing to launch new earbuds. As a reminder, the LinkBuds were designed to allow the user to remain fully aware of what is happening around him.
A completely different design
This interesting concept had however resulted in disappointing headphones, illustrated by a sound that was too unbalanced, but also by a lack of induction charging on the case. A lack difficult to forgive for a product sold around 180 euros.
Sony nevertheless seems to want to enrich its LinkBuds range with new models. And if we are to believe the visuals shared on Twitter by SnoopyTech, the Japanese manufacturer would go on a very different design. Farewell to the toroidal quickdraw of the first LinkBuds launched in February, make way for a much more classic look.
Towards a more immersive audio experience?
The visuals presented, which seem to come directly from Sony, indeed reveal a very conventional look. Sony’s next LinkBuds would therefore look like standard headphones. As pointed out XDA-Developersthis turnaround is a bit surprising for a range that wanted to stand out with an atypical design.
It is possible that in the future the “LinkBuds” range will be used all over the place by Sony, without necessarily taking up the concept of the initial products. These new headphones also adopt an intra design, conducive to active noise reduction. An antinomic feature with the original LinkBuds which precisely relied on an audio experience that was as transparent as possible in relation to surrounding noise.
At this point, no information regarding the launch or pricing placement of these new headphones has reached us. The leak of commercial visuals, however, gives hope for an upcoming release.
