Users of Youtube will soon no longer have to write a comment to share their feelings on a video. Indeed, the American site is currently launching a system of emojis.

After their deployment on WhatsApp or even SoundCloud, quick replies through the use of emojis land on YouTube. This feature, which has been in the testing phase for several weeks, is just starting to appear on smartphones and tablets. Thus, not all users should have immediate access to it.

Very biased reactions

The website 9to5Google uploaded a video to demonstrate this feature (see above). It comes in the form of a kind of floating panel placed on the lower part of the screen. Up to five reactions are directly accessible and the one selected by the user appears in the video progress bar. It is important to specify that the use of emojis is anonymous.

Google said more reactions will be added over the weeks. For the moment, the emojis that appear within the floating panel only allow to share rather positive reactions. Since the disappearance of the “I don’t like” counter, it has become very difficult to convey a negative opinion without having to write a comment.
