The Acer brand, well known for its computer, audio and video accessories, is entering the electric bike market.
It thus unveils ebii, a small electric two-wheeler cut out for the city and equipped with its own artificial intelligence.
Acer, from laptops to electric bikes
Founded in 1976, the Taiwanese brand Acer has a real reputation in the market for the development, design, production and sale of computer products. Many today have a computer (laptop or not), a screen, a video projector, headphones, or even an Acer brand webcam.
Today, the group has decided to enter a completely different market: the electric bicycle. He thus formalized ebii, a small electric bike designed especially for urban travel. Acer obliges, its two-wheeler is full of connectivity, with in particular an integrated AI. The latter will take care of learning the driver’s favorite routes, but also of modifying the speed according to the condition of the road taken.
On-board AI, airless tires and a dedicated app
Weighing around 10 kilos, the Acer ebii bike offers a look that is both sober and minimalist, and incorporates an anti-theft alarm and several sensors to detect collisions and fires in particular. It also has airless tires and works in concert with a dedicated application (ebiiGO), which allows you to manage lockout, speed and autonomy.
In addition, the bike signed Acer promises a range of around 100 kilometers, with a maximum speed limited to 32 km / h. Acer does not reveal additional details concerning the engine or the on-board battery, we just know that the complete recharge will require a little more than 2 hours. Acer specifies that the ebii bike will automatically lock when the associated smartphone is out of range.
At the moment, this small ebii bike signed Acer does not have an availability date. Same on the price side, the manufacturer has not indicated any price.
