The output ofAge of Empires 4 allowed many players to (re) discover the RTS franchise, much appreciated by fans of the genre. However, a large part of the players wonder what is the best civilization to start or which one to select to have a little more challenge, whether it is to face the computer and its AI, or simply another player.
Of course, as we explain in our guide to civilizations, not all are the same since special bonuses are available. In total, eight civilizations can be played at the time of this writing, some of which are much easier to wield and use than others. Whether in terms of buildings or human troops, the differences are numerous, thus also adding a good part of replayability, making the selection at the beginning of the game less obvious.
Tier list of the best civilizations of Age of Empires IV
The information of the tier list above are of course not stopped. It’s still an impression, but each player can have a different feeling, depending on their experience with the franchise or their level. You may find one civilization ranked in S or A difficult to understand, unlike one that ranks lower. The tier list is here to give you an idea when selecting civilization.
However, it’s hard not to find the French relatively easy to play. It is recommended for all beginners, or those wishing to play without taking the lead. It remains a versatile civilization, in which we are progressing quickly.
The Delhi Sultanate, on the other hand, has already attracted a lot of attention due to its weakness. Not very interesting for experienced players, it will prevent you from progressing very quickly at first, which could thwart your plans if you find yourself facing aggressive opponents.
