“Aggression” in a Haut-Rhin vaccination center: the victim lied

An employee of the vaccination center of Munster (Haut-Rhin) had claimed to have been violently attacked by three people on January 7, at the time of closing. Investigators eventually realized he had lied.

The victim had claimed that his attackers had inquired about his function before attacking him. His condition was not particularly serious, but his clothes had been torn.

However, “faced with a number of contradictions between the observations made and the complainant’s statements, the latter was heard again and indicated that he had lied: he was not attacked but self-inflicted the injuries”, indicated this Thursday the public prosecutor of Colmar.

“He said he injured himself on purpose using a syringe and a personal cutter that he had collected from his home in the afternoon, and by hitting himself with his fists. on the thigh. He explains his behavior by a malaise he feels which would have prompted him to this staging.

Before this twist, the prefect of Haut-Rhin had denounced “an unacceptable act”. The director general of the Grand Est Regional Health Agency had for her part assured that the vaccination centers “are the subject of permanent attention”.

The man will be subjected “to a psychiatric expertise and a personality investigation, in order to be able to give this case the appropriate criminal consequences”, specified the prosecution. An act of false denunciation of an imaginary offense can be punished by six months in prison and a fine of 7,500 euros.
