At the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk, Maud Bregeon, Renaissance MP for Hauts-de-Seine, looks back on Emmanuel Macron’s eventful visit to the Salon de l’Agriculture in comparison with that of Jordan Bardella, welcomed more warmly by the operators. She believes that the President of the Republic has “provided answers” to farmers’ questions and that politics “cannot be measured by the applause meter”.

Two rooms and two atmospheres at the Agricultural Show. After the boos and shouts this Saturday against the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron for the inauguration of the Show, Jordan Bardella was able to stroll all smiles and smoothly through the aisles to meet the farmers during his visit to the Show. Asked about this difference in reception, Maud Bregeon, Renaissance MP for Hauts-de-Seine, believes that “politics is not reality TV and that we cannot measure ourselves by the applause meter or the number of views on TikTok.”

She also believes that the President of the Republic showed “courage” by providing answers to farmers on complex subjects. According to the MP, the president of the National Rally only made “major declarations of intent”. “We all want to help farmers except that there is no magic wand. We have to get our hands dirty and actually provide solutions that are not easy to build. That’s what the president is doing.” , she continues.

“Deadly” isolation

According to Maud Bregeon, there is no “possible comparison” between Jordan Bardella and Emmanuel Macron “president of the Republic, in power for seven years and who has been finding answers for weeks”. She takes as an example the emergency cash fund for operators announced by the Head of State this Saturday. She uses the expression “yakafokon” to designate the posture of Jordan Bardella and castigates the position of the RN “which insidiously proposes an isolation of France from the European Union. I do not think that this protectionism serves farmers. They need markets, they need to export.”

The MP believes that the isolation proposed by the RN is “deadly”, she concludes.
