AHL Derby – Juniors defeat out-of-form Polar Bears

The RB Juniors won the derby against the Pinzgauer, who continue to slide into crisis. A broken plexiglass panel caused a long, unwanted break.

The RB Juniors took an early lead against the Zeller Eisbären thanks to a goal from Assavolyuk (6th), and there wasn’t much longer to play in the first third. But suddenly the derby had to be interrupted for around 20 minutes. The reason? A broken plexiglass pane. But this didn’t break the flow of the juniors, they continued to hold tight at the back. After half an hour it was Assavolyuk who scored again to make it 2-0. And the polar bears? They didn’t manage to score a goal. The Pinzgauers are thus extending their negative run. They simply can’t get going in the championship round. Nothing worked in the last third either, Salzburg made everything clear in the person of Elias Pul (49th). “The game was very good from us today. We showed our performance, put them under pressure and didn’t let them do what they wanted,” said the German overjoyed after the game. The victory was also thanks to a strong Simon Wolf in goal. Nevertheless, one thing is certain: the polar bears are still completely out of shape. In addition, Timo Pallierer had to be taken to hospital after the second third due to an injury. It doesn’t work at all.
