Ahsoka (Disney +): a trailer and a release date for the future Star Wars series

From April 7 to 10 in London is the Star Wars Celebration, an event that honors the famous universe created by George Lucas. A big party which is every year the occasion of multiple announcements of future films and series.

And this 2023 edition was no exception to the rule, showing new images of Skeleton Crew And The Acolyte. Above all, Lucasfilm unveiled the first trailer for the future series Ahsokaas well as its broadcast window on the Disney+ streaming platform: August 2023.

A new start

First appeared in the anime series Clone Wars in 2008 as Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice, Ahsoka Tano quickly became a fan-favorite character. She will be present again, always animated, in the series Rebels (2014-2018) before being embodied in flesh and blood by Rosario Dawson (SinCity, Men in Black II) In The Mandalorian.

Faced with the enthusiasm of fans, and the desire of creators Dave Filoni and John Favreau to develop their Star Wars universe, it was quickly announced that the character would be entitled to his own spin-off series, soberly titled Ahsoka.

This first official trailer shows us the links between the future series and Star Wars: Rebels, with the return of characters Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Jedi Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi). These first images also announce the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn as the main threat. The series also features Ray Stevenson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lars Mikkelsen and Hayden Christensen returning as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

Along with the trailer, a poster was also unveiled, along with a streaming window. Series Ahsoka will therefore be released in August 2023 on Disney+.
